Students in my class receive a quality education, in which they explore the procedures and techniques in music making and music literacy. This is accomplished through engagement in a classroom environment that celebrates diversity, respects the beliefs of all, and in which ensemble collaboration is encouraged. I invest time in getting to know each student as an individual and draw upon their strengths to create lessons that are conducive to their interests and learning styles. I encourage students to ask questions and become active participants in their learning environment.

I employ the use of a variety of repertoire, musical arrangements, movement activities, and educational techniques in order to help foster all students into independent learning. I apply the curriculum to practical applications in the current day so that all my students leave my class with the knowledge to become healthy and educated musicians and citizens. I regularly attend professional development and am a member of various professional organizations to help further my knowledge and skill set as an educator.
